Summer Arts Camp Accepting Applications

The inaugural Cultivating the Arts Summer Youth Camp, presented by the nonprofit Timmons Arts Foundation, and in conjunction with the AMDPA and The First Tee of Central Arkansas, is now accepting applications.

The camp, which begins July 7 and continues daily through August 1, will accept no more than 50 beginner-level central Arkansas students age 7-14 with an interest in the arts and provide them with instruction in four of their chosen areas of artistic interest.  Subject choices include visual art, vocal performance, musical performance, dance and fashion design.  All students will also receive instruction in fitness activities and education in nutrition.

To apply, students are asked to complete an application, available at the Timmons Arts Foundation website,, before 5 p.m. June 6.   Alternatively, applications can be printed and mailed to the Foundation, postmarked no later than June 6.  Please email for a physical application.  Once completed, please mail to;

There is no cost to attend the camp, which will be held 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday each week at the Willie Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center located at 805 W. 12th Street in Little Rock. Transportation to and from the camp will not be provided.
The Board of Directors and Executive Director of the Foundation will immediately begin reviewing applications in the order in which they are received and will continue consideration through the application deadline, June 6 at 5 p.m. Students selected for the camp will be notified no later than June 7.
