Summer Arts Camp Accepting Applications

The Timmons Arts Foundation, in conjunction with Arkansas Baptist College, The Derek Lewis Foundation, Pulaski County Youth Services, PepsiCo Foundation, The First Tee of Central Arkansas and Bass Pro Shops, kicks off the 3rd annual “Cultivating the Arts Youth Summer Camp!”  The five week arts camp begins July 5th, and continues daily (Monday – Friday) through August 5th.  100 beginner-level students ages 7-12, with an interest in the arts, will be selected to receive instruction in six areas of art. Subjects include visual art, vocal performance, Instrumental music, dance, theatre and fashion design.  All students will also receive instruction in fitness activities and education in nutrition.

To apply, parents are asked to complete an application, available at the Timmons Arts Foundation website,, before 5 p.m. May 30th. Alternatively, paper applications can be completed and mailed to the Foundation, postmarked no later than May 30th.

There is no cost associated with this camp.

The host camp site is Arkansas Baptist College, located at 11621 Doctor MLK Jr. Drive in Little Rock. Camp begins at 7:30

a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. daily. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided. Transportation to and from the camp will not be provided.

The Board of Directors and Executive Director of the Foundation will immediately begin reviewing applications in the order in which they are received and will continue consideration through the application deadline. Students selected for the camp will be notified no later than June 12th.
